Favorite Movies List

The Nostalgia Critic put up a couple videos describing what his favorite films were and why which is a good idea I hadn't really thought about before. I tried to narrow it down to 20 but ended up with 31!
These are sort of in order:

1. Braindead (1992)
2. Eraserhead (1977)
3. Evil Dead II (1987)
4. Army of Darkness (1992)
5. Dawn of the Dead (1978)
6. Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Spirited Away) (2001)
7. A Clockwork Orange (1971)
8. Paris, Texas (1984)
9. El laberinto del fauno (Pan's Labyrinth) (2006)
10. Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
11. Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror) (1922)
12. Night of the Living Dead (1968)
13. Two Thousand Maniacs! (1964)
14. The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962)
15. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
16. The Devil's Rejects (2005)
17. Pulp Fiction (1994)
18. Day of the Dead (1985)
19. South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut (1999)
20. More (1998)
21. Martin (1977)
22. Raging Bull (1980)
23. Boogie Nights (1997)
24. Fight Club (1999)
25. Coraline (2009)
26. Re-Animator (1985)
27. Ghost Busters (1984)
28. Freaks (1932)
29. Stop Making Sense (1984)
30. Häxan (Witchcraft Through the Ages) (1922)
31. The Dark Knight (2008)

There's so many more movies I could list but these are the ones that I'd watch over and over again. The ones that I watch again every once in awhile, to remind myself of why I love film so much. They all have special places in my heart for different reasons.

Great choices! I really couldn't rank all of them, but my favorite is at the top.

Crumb
Amarcord
Vampyr
The Passion of Joan of Arc
Seven Samurai
Johnny Guitar
Prometheus' Garden
The Night of the Hunter
Kill Bill
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The Happiness of the Katikuris
This is Spinal Tap
Eraserhead
King Kong
Suspiria
M
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Night of the Living Dead
Metropolis
Dr. Strangelove
Monster Road
if....
This Sporting Life
Plan 9 from Outer Space
Don't Look Now
Koyaanisqatsi

Not a lot of these are on my profile but I never update it.

Clerks? I consider that a "guilty pleasure", but I love it. Not a guilty pleasure in the sense of "Jackass: The Movie", which amuses my caveman brain.

That sounded like I was listing yours. I'm not trying to steal the show, though.

I should have extended it to 35. I would have put The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly and Night of the Hunter on it.

For Python though, I'd put Life of Brian over Holy Grail.
Don't Look Now is great too. I think it's really underrated.
I'd also add Near Dark and Return of the Living Dead. Anyone that's tired of the wussy Twilight vampire bullshit should watch Near Dark. (And Nosferatu).

I like Clerks, but I don't really love it. I actually liked Clerks II better. "I'm sorry Jesus!"

I went to see Jackass: The Movie with a bunch of friends when it was in the theaters. It's one of the few times we all laughed till it hurt. There's something about morons hurting themselves that's hilarious...

Darnit, I forgot Carnival of Souls! And Amelie. It's so hard to narrow down!

I guess "love" is a pretty strong word for Clerks. Maybe it helps that the only version I've seen is the original cut, where he gets shot at the end.

I love Life of Brian too, but there's just something about that first movie... it's miles less mature and more primitive, but the feel is so distinct and fantastic and new. Life of Brian has a neat feel too. Like old European broadsheets poking fun and doing satire.

Oh, by the way, how the heck do I edit your post on Crud Load of Movies?

It didn't work the way I thought it was going to. I thought you could edit my posts. Damn technology! I suppose discussion is just going to have to move to the comments section....
